This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and we have listed some resources below, courtesy of Mind, which you may find useful.
Lifeline Plus is a new helpline for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough providing a listening ear, to discuss issues affecting mood & wellbeing especially during this time. The line is available Monday to Friday, 9am-2pm (excluding Bank Holidays) by calling 0808 808 2121.
We can help address issues around feeling isolated, lonely and for mild to moderate anxiety and low mood. We can support you to find self-help or signpost to other partners for particular concerns; about caring for others, parents or bereavement for example. The line is open to adults 18+.
Your call will be answered by trained professionals from CPSL Mind or local NHS mental health services, supported by a wide range of organisations and charities that have specific or specialist knowledge.
To provide the best possible service you will be asked for a few personal details, these are stored securely and only shared with a partner organisation to get the support you need. If so, we will always let you know what we want to share and with whom – and will ask your permission to do so.
Lifeline Plus complements the existing Lifeline helpline. Lifeline has been run by Lifecraft for more than twenty years, providing confidential support for those in mental health distress. Adults in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough can now sign up to https://www.qwell.io/ – a free online support and wellbeing community – as part of our Good Life Service.

Chat based counselling
You can access safe and confidential one-hour chat sessions with a fully qualified counsellor online via instant messaging. Individuals can have one session per week and a maximum of six sessions in total. Counsellors are available on Qwell between 12pm and 10pm on weekdays and between 6pm and 10pm on weekends. You can either drop in to a chat queue or book a specific time slot for a future date.
Online peer support
Qwell’s moderated online forums provide a strong community, offering advice and support. You can join to start your own topics or be there for others who are already looking for support.
You have the option of keeping your own, confidential online journal to track your mood. There is also the opportunity to set and track your own goals to support your recovery or maintain your wellbeing.
Qwell provide informative articles for users and there are hundreds already available online. You can also submit your own articles and comments to share your lived experience of mental health and wellbeing with other users. Reading submissions can be really inspiring, showing you and others that you are not alone in what you’re experiencing.

Our Zoom group sessions offer guidance on self-help techniques which can help you to ‘ground yourself’ and feel better – both in that moment and in the future.
You can sign up to join the virtual sessions detailed below by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org or calling us on 0300 303 4363. We’ll then send you a private link and password which you can use to safely and securely join.
Our Sanctuary service remains open for dedicated telephone support for those in mental health crisis and is only accessed via the NHS First response Service on telephone 111 option.
