At Chorus Homes we are dedicated to helping you maintain your tenancy, that’s why we contact tenants who are behind with their rent to assist them.  We are now looking at introducing a new way of getting in touch.

As of the 1 June 2020 we will be using automated phone calls to contact tenants who are in arrears.

Automated phone calls

If you fall into arrears, you will receive a recorded call from us asking you to get in touch.  This call will give you the option to connect to a member of the Income Recovery Team on a free of charge number to discuss the account.

If you miss the automated call, you will receive a text message, letting you know we called, and asking you to get in contact with us. Please note that calls back to us will be at your local rate, but a member of the team will be happy to call you straight back if required.

Being up to date with payments for your property is important to ensure that you can enjoy a safe and secure home.

Our dedicated team can work with you and offer support if you are struggling to pay your charges.  We also have a Rent Support Officer who we can signpost you to for further assistance.

Safe and secure

We know people can be cautious about answering calls from unknown numbers - and for good reason! Due to increasing numbers of telephone scams and telemarketing calls, it can be difficult to know what is and isn't a ‘real’ automated message.

We will never ask you to give any information directly to the automated caller. You will always deal with one of our Income Team to discuss your account, who will go through standard data protection questions with you. This will normally include your name and date of birth, but we will never ask you for bank or card details unless we are processing a payment to your rent account and data protection checks have already been completed.

We will never ask you to send us personal or financial information via text message.

The calls will be made during office hours of 09:00 -17:00 Monday to Thursday and 09:00 – 16:30 Friday.

If you have any concerns regarding an automated call, please ring our Income Service Team on 0345 226 9760 and select option 2.
