The Community Shop, which used to run from the Medway Centre, has found a new home at the HOPE Social Enterprises premises.

As the Medway Centre closed, most of the activities relocated to the brand new Coneygear Centre. However, there was no vacancy for The Community Shop, which sells pre-loved clothes, shoes, toys, and jewellery.

HOPE embraced The Community Shop with open arms, and the shop has moved into an area free of charge, so they can continue to provide quality pre-loved goods.  Whilst in its early stages, the partnership is working extremely well with customers able to buy a range of furniture from HOPE as well as The Community Shop’s products.

Tessa Foderingham, The Community Shop Manager, said “The Community Shop has been running for three and half years and is much valued by the local community. We were disappointed that we could not use the new Coneygear Centre, but the silver lining in the cloud is HOPE, who graciously made room for us.

“We encourage all to come and visit us. We have a wide range of good quality children’s clothing, male and female fashions and various pre-loved items.  We are open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9.30am till 3pm.”

Lewis Barker, Hope Operations Manager, said “HOPE is delighted to have the The Community Shop working with us. I believe this partnership will enable us both to reach out to new customers in the local area and provide an expanded service to the community.”

HOPE Social Enterprises and The Community Shop are located at 11 Glebe Road, Huntingdon PE29 7HH. The Community Shop is open 9.30am to 3pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Hope Shop is open 9am to 4pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
