Volunteers' Week 2021 is taking place between 1-7 June. It's a time to celebrate the fantastic work of volunteers across the UK and to find out how you could get involved. Volunteers are important to our communities, giving their time and energy to make a difference.
Why is volunteering important?
Volunteering is one of many rewarding things you could do. As well as helping others, volunteering can improve your own wellbeing too. As a volunteer, you will:
- Make a difference – volunteering gives you a real sense of achievement as you will make a positive impact on the lives of others
- Meet new people - volunteering lets you be part of a community with similar interests
- Take on a challenge – try something new and learn new skills – a great way to boost your confidence.
We’d like you to join us
As part of Volunteers' Week 2021, Places for People are proud to launch the 'Customer Involvement Promise', and we’re inviting you to volunteer with us to make a real difference.
Our customers can join our national and local customer groups to take a closer look at our services, policies and procedures, making sure that the customer's voice is really shaping our services. Depending on how much time you have to volunteer, there are many ways you can get involved.
If Volunteers' Week has inspired you to think about volunteering, then we’d love to hear from you.
